Today I hit a major milestone in that, hot, m/m paranormal story I’ve been writing since this Monday: it’s already at 11k words and I’m loving it.

This story is completely different from what I normally do, as it has a paranormal core to it and it’s written in the first person. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still filled with hot sex scenes, but it’s also a story where strange things can happen because—you guessed it—of its paranormal approach.

I thought I’d hate writing in the first person point of view, but I’m fast learning that I actually love it. I find myself sweating and totally engrossed in what I’m writing because of it, and I feel that it really pulls you into the character’s mind and his feelings.

When I began writing the paranormal short story last week, this was just a fun exercise. I also thought that writing in the 1st person was dated as it reminded me of books like War of the Worlds, Frankenstein and many others written in the 19th century. But it’s enthralling and I really enjoy it.

This is being a wild ride and one that will take me to places I wasn’t expecting to explore. Stay tuned! More to come 🙂
